Blaine Lay’s sweet spot lies at the intersection of ideation and strategy. He leverages his natural curiosity for the world by asking how it can be applied to the complexity of a business problem. Armed with a background in traditional branding, Blaine is passionate about helping clients find alignment around a purpose or strategy and enabling them to pursue it in a unique way.
In his time at Joe Smith, Blaine has led all aspects of the brand-building process. Some of the clients he has worked with include: GE, Chick-fil-A, the College of William & Mary, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Keystone Insurers Group, Bremer Bank and NewLeaf Symbiotics. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Blaine is a basketball fan and podcast aficionado. He believes that each of us has a role to play in the civic life of our community. He enjoys eating good food with his wife and wrestling on the floor with his son.
